It takes me 12 minutes to get here,” he mentioned. This proximity allows him to navigate the demands of his professional commitments efficiently while maintaining a connection to his roots.

DeVito’s journey to this point has included some ups and downs in his first two NFL appearances. Substituting for Taylor in a Week 8 loss to the New York Jets and taking over for the injured Jones in last week’s defeat against the Las Vegas Raiders, DeVito has experienced a mixed bag of performances. His combined stats include 17 completions on 27 attempts, 174 passing yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Additionally, he has contributed with eight carries for 29 yards and a rushing touchdown.

With Jones ruled out for the remainder of the season and Taylor’s return not imminent, DeVito is set to have an extended opportunity to showcase his skills. The backup quarterback for the Giants is 33-year-old Matt Barkley, who last played in an NFL game in 2020.
